I couldn't help thinking that the first thing to do would be to get ones satellite phone and dial the local equivalent of 999 / 112 / 911 (I don't know what the equivalent of 'emergency services' on sat-phones is).
In fact I thought the film trailer could segue nicely into the end of the Thuraya TV commercial. 'One solution. Thuraya. We go further, you stay closer', or somesuch.
Apparently it is the Mongolian desert they crash in, which would mean that they would have to use one of the other networks since Thuraya currently isn't available that far east.
So, the moral of the story is, 'if you are going to be flying over remote deserts, why not fork out 600 odd dollars for a satphone, you know it makes sense'.
Or maybe the film IS a historical drama...
