Some people have compared 'The Big Society' to the cones hotline as something faintly ludicrous. I would say that 'care in the community' is a better comparison, being something that on some level meant well but was also used as a cost saving measure and something where the name became a byword for cynicism. I am surprised this comparison isn't used more often.

Also, we of Sex And The City fandom still object to the appropriation of our organisation's name.
