There is now a notice saying that from the first of May it is only going to open at 3 p.m. and be closed completely on Sunday.
It is, of course, always possible to get in on foot, but it is handy for driving to to take old / lame dogs for a walk.
It's yer cutbacks, innit? (though of course maybe they are covering themselves and in general it will be opened in the morning as before, we shall see).
This reminds me depressingly of post oil-crisis cutbacks in the early 70s which were very much of this ilk.
I am not quite clear why the gate is locked at all. What do they think is going to happen? Yoof joyriding etc.? But there is already the drug dealing spot and the dogging spot, conveniently separated by a five minute drive to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.
I shall ask my local councillor. Perhaps.
