#I know Yoko, she knows Bono, he knows Eno's phone goes thus#

Interesting interview on Maconie's show on 6 Music on Sunday with Robert Wyatt.
"There were strong arguments with the producer of Top of the Pops surrounding his performance of "I'm a Believer," on the grounds that his wheelchair-bound appearance 'was not suitable for family viewing', the producer wanting Wyatt to appear on a normal chair. Wyatt won the day and 'lost his rag but not the wheel chair', but gave a performance that could be described as disgruntled." (that's from Wikipedia not the interview).

Also listen in on Monday's Tom 'Gentleman Broadcaster' Robinson's show about 14 minutes in for his apology for the faked competition results (summary - the band offered us tickets to their gig, no-one wanted them, we knew they were listening so we didn't want to embarrass them so we made something up. No attempt as with the BBC press release to weasel out of responsibility by saying 'I didn't know anything, it was them'.

I am with Adam Buxton in viewing the whole thing (apart from the premium rate numbers, which this wasn't) as a ludicrous fartstorm
