Ugh!

If you want to be put off your breakfast (and for that matter dinner or lunch), BBC Parliament is showing the 1992 General Election results coverage, it being the 15th anniversary.

Flying Chaucer Rock and Roll

The problem with having done Shakespeare and Dickens is who to do in the next series? I guess Chaucer is the other one of the 'big 3'. And the ever infallible Wikipedia says 'One other trip he took in 1377 seems shrouded in mystery, with records of the time conflicting in details. Later documents suggest it was a mission, along with Jean Froissart, to arrange a marriage between the future Richard II and a French princess, thereby ending the Hundred Years War. If this was the purpose of their trip, they seem to have been unsuccessful, as no wedding occurred.' And, as well all know, everything shrouded in mystery involves aliens.
Then, there is the parallel work of pissing off female British monarchs. But, apart from the current queen, and I think that would be a bit too daring (mmm, thinks, a blue police box appears in an underpass in Paris causing a car crash :-)), none of the others are particularly interesting. Mary I? King Williamandmary? Maybe Wallis Simpson could turn out to be an alien. With cyberpants.
