Donald Michie

I am sure you won't be surprised that I have moaned to BBC News about the death of Donald Michie http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6281348.stm not making it to the TV news, when this story did http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/essex/6281396.stm . Whilst the latter is no doubt a tragedy to his family and friends, it is fair to say he wasn't a war hero and a pioneer of a scientific field.

(I cannot help but be amused that the news stories found on Google News are all obviously off the PA wire, with Scotland on Sunday adding the word Scots to 'Top Academics Killed In Car Crash' http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/scotland.cfm?id=1065162007 )
