I have to say that the John Browne saga has not brought the joy to me that a good tale of sleaze usually does, to a large part but not exclusively because it isn't a politician involved. It is somehow rather sad and sordid. I would like to know more about this ringtone business. What ringtones was he selling? What is the economics of the business anyway? Whose idea was it?
Also, I have to say that should at some point in the future I be cruelly spurned by Gordon Brown, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Archbishop of Canterbury, the other three members of the Wednesday Wolfbaggers (it started with bridge and somehow it snowballed from there), I shan't be selling my story to Associated Newspapers. Murdoch or Desmond perhaps, but not Associated Newspapers. A rent-weasel has to have his standards.
