Weekend Edition

One of the sketches on Bill Bailey's 'Part Troll' was an observation that the themes of American news programmes sound like soap opera themes whereas British ones are much harsher - he does the BBC news theme as a bit of techno music. If it is true of the CBS news theme (the CBS news is on Sky News at half past midnight), which is the one he played on Part Troll, it is even truer of the theme for NPR's Weekend Edition, which is on the satellite version of WRN as we speak.

Except that maybe it sounds like the theme of a feel-good sitcom.
