Oh wisdom of LJ, are the Jennings books suitable for contemporary children or is there casual sexism / anti-Semitism etc. that I didn't notice at the time? I kind of assume not. The cousinlets are into Harry Potter, Tintin etc. but I think they might like Jennings. I used to like them at that age. Also, of course, Jennings is a gateway drug for Molesworth (though maybe Harry Potter explains enough about public schools etc. that you don't need Jennings. Discuss).
